The Tech2000 NightFire™ Line of telescope Oculars, eyepieces, diagonals, filters, and the associated plethora of accessories... "There is no better way"

Constant searching... testing... evaluating... then...

We contract global -- only the best designs
...from the best performing optical laboratories.

Then we bring them to the rest of the world.

If it rides in a focuser - this is where you find it.

"There is no better price/performance ratio"
(If price is no object, go Zeiss or Tele-Vue premiums, but for similar ... use what we found!)
(Note- this an Area-51 page, you cannot order here, click on the Contact or Order buttons above.)
(Re A51 alien technology, we do not harm any alien sentinents - just squeeze 'em a bit for info.)
(Except for "Marvin The Martian", he's dangerous, and we get a little rough.)

THE BASE-STANDARD... NIGHTFIRE™ SPEC-EYEPIECES GROUP

Eyepieces are arranged in the table below from left to right in order of "Usual" to "Unusual". This is not necessarily in order of prices, though that is roughly true, but is in order of the sales and use of these product technologies by amateur astronomers.

HU/KE-Huygens/Kellner... Note we do not sell these simple types... performance is too low even with the cheap cost considered.
PL-Plossl... The most common general-purpose eyepiece design in use, because of lowest cost and good performance.
SPL-SuperPlossl... adds a bit wider view and a flatter field-focus than a regular plossl.
WA-WideAngle, longer eye-relief than Super-Plossls, significantly more viewscreen size, similar to Radian.
EWA-ExtendedWideAngle. Though very similar to WA, has focal lengths not available in WA, and a more-generous eye-relief.
SWA-SuperWideAngle... more view angle and a bit better coma-correction for reflectors, similar to Panoptic.
UWA-UltraWideAngle... the "large-porthole" viewing experience, popularized by Naglers.
ETHER-ExoticWideAngle... extreme-experience wide-angle viewing, similar to Ethos.
ED-ExtraLowDispersionGlass... exotic glass for compact, high-error-correction ability and low light-scatter. Excellent on planets.
ABBE-AbbeOrthoscopic (1st group achromatic triplett, 2nd group singlelens)... An older design but still sought by definitive planet observers, not good on faint deep-space and short-tubes due to the smaller lenses and short eye-relief at the high-mag these yield.

How To Choose: Most people who shop at Tech2000 already know where they fit in this spectrum, but here are the main points... The eyepieces and other associated oculars are 50% of your telescope optic-train, so better eyepieces improve a poor scope and also get the best available out of a fine scope, for less cost than the scope in either case, but in general a full complement of oculars (eyepieces + all else used) should normally be quite similar to the telescope cost alone to match-up quality balances.  Start with the barrel sizes you need first to cover the physical requirement, then go for the widest Apparent Field Of View (AFOV) in your budget (considering the full-set price at the bottom of the list too). Use the lower cost on small instruments since more lens elements lose more light with the bigger AFOV occulars. ED and ABBE are special things, shoppers for those will know what they seek, else ignore them!

All items are full money-back guaranteed so feel free to experiment like we do.
